How to design Evergreen Content for Instagram
If you know what your goals on Instagram are (more engagement, more sales, more visibility for your brand), coming up with long-living content isn’t too difficult anymore.
Here are three proven ways how we create evergreen content for Instagram:
1. Create Evergreen Instagram Stories
One way to create evergreen content for your Instagram account is to create stories that promote your offers, services, and freebies. Stories are a great way to share community-building content with your followers, and they can help you connect with your audience in a more personal and interactive way.
When designing your evergreen stories, you can use the following tips to make your content more effective:
- Focus on promoting your offers, services, and freebies: These stories should highlight the key features and benefits of your evergreen products and services, and should explain why your audience should be interested in what you have to offer. Don’t forget to include a link sticker or tell them how they can get the offer.
- Explain how people can work with you: Make stories that include clear and concise information about how your audience can get started with your products and services. This can include details about pricing, availability, and how to get in touch with you.
- Showcase social proof for your offer: Your stories should showcase the real-world results and benefits that your audience can expect from your products and services. This can include customer testimonials, case studies, and other evidence of the value that you provide.
- Promote your blog posts, videos, and podcast episodes: If you have a blog, YouTube channel, or podcast, you can use your stories to promote and also repurpose your existing long-form content. This can help you drive traffic to your other platforms and can also help you build your brand and reputation.
By following these tips, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to your stories and you always have something to share, even if you don’t feel like hopping on camera.
2. Re-use your Best-performing Posts
Another way to create evergreen content for your Instagram account is to re-use your best-performing feed posts on a regular basis. By keeping track of which posts perform the best, you can create a schedule for reposting them and can ensure that your content is always relevant to both your audience and your goals. Feed post recycling is one of our favorite ways to make your content creation less stressful!
What to keep in mind when re-using your best-performing posts on Instagram:
- Keep track of your numbers: You can use Instagram’s native analytics tools, or you can use a third-party analytics platform like Socialblade, to track the performance of your posts. Look for posts that have received a lot of likes, comments, and shares, and consider reposting these posts on a regular basis.
- Design new post graphics, but re-use the ideas and captions from your best-performing posts: If you want to give your reposted content a fresh look, you can design a new post graphic, but re-use the ideas and captions. This can help you save time and effort, and will make sure your content doesn’t get boring!
- Optional: You can archive earlier posts if you are worried to have the same graphics in your feed all over. Use this feature with caution as some older posts might still get engagement or be otherwise relevant to your strategy.
3. Repurpose your TikTok videos for Reels (or your other Video Content)
Another way to create evergreen content for your Instagram account is to repurpose your existing short-form video content for Reels. This can be TikToks, idea pin videos for Pinterest or Youtube shorts. If you are active on both TikTok and Instagram, you can create your videos on the platform you prefer and then repost them on the other platform. This can help you reach a wider audience with less effort.
Here are some tips to follow when repurposing your TikTok videos for Reels (or the other way round!):
- If you have a particular platform that you enjoy using more, create your videos on that platform. This will help you feel more comfortable and creative, and will help you create better content.
- Repost your videos on the other platform: Once you’ve created your videos, you can repost them on the other platform. This will help you reach a wider audience and can also help you increase the visibility and engagement of your content.
- Use trends from TikTok and bring them over to Instagram. This can include trending audio which you can use on both platforms.
Even though people say that Instagram is short lived, creating evergreen content doesn’t have to be difficult. And the gains for your productivity and stress levels can be huge!
Strategic evergreen content can save you a lot of time and effort with content creation. By creating evergreen stories, re-using your best-performing posts, and repurposing your short-form videos, you can ensure that you always have something to post next, and can focus your extra time on creating better live content.
